Mother nature beat me up

I got the tar beat out of me yesterday with that snowfall we had in west central IN. Ran my H plowing snow from 6am to almost dark non stop. Pulled out the town snow plow from a ditch, and several cars, plowed the bank, and American Legion parking lots, and a bunch of driveways. People were flagging me down left and right. Bad thing is my back gave out from all the looking backwards and had to quit for the day. Had more people banging on the door this morning. This was the first good snowfall we have had here in years. Hope everyone one out there is doing well.

To me--any snow is not good. We've had more than our share here in Eastern Iowa--along with cold. Of course folks who clear & plow snow are in good shape. Snow plowing is always hard on the back & neck--my sympathies to you on that. The cold doesn't help either.

Maybe you guys could send some more up to NW washington. I love the snow but most others don't agree. The only bad part is the granola heads that don't know how to drive in the snow.

Just the granola heads? 'Round here where we get a handful of significant snowfalls a year, NOBODY knows how to drive in winter, and most of 'em have 4x4 SUVs. Oy.

10-12" of HEAVY snow here... Got stuck in my driveway with the truck 5' shy of the garage. Beached it on a drift and burned myself a nice slick patch of ice so I couldn't get traction. Had to blow around it and use roof shingles under the tires to get myself unstuck... No way the A would make it through 300' of waist-deep snow in the backyard to pull it out.... and I had to be somewhere.

Froze my a$$ off for 20 years moving snow until I got my 706 with a cab this past summer. One of my tractor buddies swears he don't need a cab. So a couple weeks ago when it was -28F, I warmed her up real good and stripped down to a t-shirt and putted by his place. Sure enough be was out, bundled up like an eskimo. I waved and grinned and wiped my brow like I was sweating to death. Couldn't hear what he was saying but from his hand gestures I'm pretty sure I'm #1 in his book.

So much for taking the day off. Ended up plowing 4 more driveways today and pulling one car and a truck out of ditches. The idiots in the car were doing doughnuts when they slid in so I made them crawl in the snow and hook the chain up. We had 11 inches here. Luckily it is nice fluffy snow and not wet stuff. Supposed to get another inch tonight. The H sure does good plowing snow! I shoved some piles as high as 6 feet tall!

Sometime, during daylight hours, would you have time to capture the moment(s) and share photo(s) with us IH/red iron fans? Oh, ya, thanks in advance.
