1086 fusebox trouble

Hello everybody, loaned my 1086 out to run an auger wagon this fall, and since it came back it stinks like a burnt electric train. It doesn't get used at all in the off-season and I only get to the farm a couple times during the winter months. Anyway, last time I was there just before I had to leave I started poking around a little and found the melted wire, it comes off of the top fuse. Everything still works, when I took the top fuse out everything still works except the voltmeter. I may get some time with it next week, just wondering if anyone ran into this particular problem. Thanks

We had intermittent trouble with heat at the fuse block on our 1086. We discovered corrosion and loose fuse connectors which creates a high resistance open and will generate heat, melt wires and blow fuses. After replacing the block and reterminating some of the wire connectors - our problem was curred. tom
