My 24 cents worth.

(quoted from post at 21:06:11 01/28/09) Dave: Are you suggesting it is no longer possible to add one's 2 cents worth.
ot in the least! David..........

PS What if the federal mint quits making the penny?

I still have a few Canadian $1 and $2 bills. I think sometimes I ought to take them up with me one trip and try to spend them, just to see what some sixteen-year-old convenience store clerk would do with them. The loonies and twonies have been around for so long, I doubt they'd have a place in the register drawer to put them.

Scotty, I did that about 10 years ago. Way back in high school the senior trip was to Toronto. Of course I had some Canadian currency left over, but only a few singles and some change. I stuff it in an old piggy bank and forget about it.

Fast forward about 6 years. By then the loonie had been around a while and the twonie was fairly new. Work sends me to Mississauga for technical training. Didn't know about the coins, so I took my Canadian money with me to spend. You should've seen the looks on their faces then. I can't imagine what it'd be like now.

Paid for gas to get home with pocket change. Kinda cool to reach into your pocket, and pull out $20 in a handful of coins.

Don't you Canadian folks wish you had an external_link for your very own? That way your Canadian Dollar would be worth about .12, just like our will be shortly.
