where is the hydraulic filter located? I took off a cover I thought was it but I was looking at the throwout bearing?

thanks

On the 340 wheeled tractors the hydraulic filter is located behind a six sided oval shaped plate. It is on the lower right side of the torque tube (if looking from the seat) and is held on by six bolts. Take that plate off and the filter should be behind it.

This picture should help you note its location, the tractor is a 560, but the location is the same for the 340 series as well

I was going to look but didn't have time. Go to caseih.com and search for parts. Put your model # in. Looks like you have the standard filter used on the 04, 06, and 60 serices among others. The pump(s) are on the opposite side of the tractor. You can get wix through oreillys. You will probably lose a quart or so of fluid when you pull the filter. Should have a screen in it to.
