86 series Power Steering Cylinder leaking

Hello all,
I have a 79 1586 with a terrible leaking front power steering cylinder. Probably all the same on 86 series tractors. I found a seal kit, but very pricey. Does anyone have a good one laying around? Any and all answers will be appreiciated.

You just as well fix the one you have by time you buy used cyl.& pay freight to get it there.Because whos to say it won,t leak in a month.Just my opinion.
 
What do they want for the kit Wayne? I rebuilt mine on the 2606 and paid $86 to caseih. You may be able to cross ref the kit with someone like baileynet.com or surpluscenter.com but probably not. At least I know I got the right seals and orings buying from caseih. A hydraulic repair place may be able to cross ref the kit number but doubtful.

Went to the local hydraulic place to get orings for a block, all they could do is put a micrometer on an old one and go the bin. Caseih uses some oddball sizes and thicknesses and then this place pulls some from a bin and says to try these. You can spend a couple hours at the hyd place trying to match up the seals, wipers, orings, and the piston seal, etc. and then not be sure you have the exact right parts. Print out the parts diagram and parts listing from caseih and take with you. Some of the orings, etc have measurements.
 
Hi there,
I broke down and purchased the exact seal kit for the cylinder. Hated to do it, but if I'm going to to do I'm going to do it right. It is hard to pay $76.46 for a bunch of rubber O-RINGS and seals. I asked the parts guy if he had ever rebuilt one? He said, long time ago and don't be alarmed if once I get the cylinder together I have some seals left over. I'm thinking WHAT??? He says they fit more than one application, so we pay for all varieties of cylinders I guess. Anyway, I will rebuild it and stop at least one of my leaks.
