Questions about distributor live pump for an M?

A friend has a distributor hydraulic pump that"s off a Farmall, he thinks it belongs on a Super M. The only marking on it are as follows: part # 363780 R-93 plus it has 250-D stamped on it. Will this fit on an M? It doesn"t have the block that bolts to the pump for the hoses, is it possible to find them?

I would call your Case IH dealer parts department. They will be able to tell you what it fits and if parts are still available.

Here's a couple of pictures of it, I believe that the pump is an IH.

I don't know for sure, but I think there were several good numbers for a SM application (400/450, etc.) Also, your number could be for a diesel and not work for a gas tractor.
My SM has a pump with the number 362175 on it. I have a spare pump that I cannot see any number on - maybe it is just very faint.
Why don't you get on the CaseIH website and go to their electronic parts catalogs and see what you can find out? Be sure and check out the 400 and 450 models and the diesels as well as gas. mike

I forgot to mention - yes, it is possible to find that block that the hoses go onto which bolts to the bottom of the pump. An ebay seller named "WheatlandWilly" just had one with the hoses for sale last week. I think the auction might have ended yesterday. mike

That pump # is for a diesel. Type pump used by IH gas engines is a fairly easy bolt up if the M engine is serial # 228083 or higher. There's more than one way to make it work if lower, but takes more work if serial is lower and nothing has already been changed. A port block can be got aftermarket, made, or from another IH tractor.
You should use a pressure relief valve in system and if you don't need the extra pressure set it at 1000 PSI or a little lower and whatever cam gear you have in engine may last.
Disclaimer, Some information from IH and other sources can have conflicting answers. Also all parts of units in question are subject to changes by dealer, others and end user. Above answer is made in good faith but with no guarantee to be correct.

The pump that is on my M is a behlen #201 I think, and runs the Hydros and Power Steering. Worked good but would get sticky on hydro and steering at same time.
