will a injector pump fit and work from a 886 with a D360 to a 1486 with a DT 436

No because the 360 is the german diesel engine.The 14 is the american engine that uses the 100 model American Bosch pump.

Some of the 886's had the D-360 which is the Ambac model 100 pump. The D-358 is the geman engine with the bosch pump. I don't know if all the internals are the same though. I would say the head is probably not a 10mm like the 1486. It would mount on but you would probably have a tough time getting enough fuel out of it.
