What did I buy??

Last spring at an auction I bought a pto manure spreader advertised as a Massey Ferguson 135 for the sum of $500.....brought it home and used it....
Now Im in the process of refurbishing it...just took the old wood out...and will get ready to sandblast it this week.....I happened to spot an IH logo on the chain sprocket....after further looking, all of the pulleys, sprockets and gear box have the IH logo...

Did IH farm out spreaders to MF or do I have an IH spreader....??
I need a rough guess on potential model number so I can look it up in the online parts catalog...

Here is a description : body painted red, 10' bed, wood bottom, 1/2 wood on sides, pto driven --chain connecting two shafts, apron chain is blue, it has 3 beaters which are blue, 7.5 - 24 tires on 8 bolt hubs --wheels are yellow (thought that was odd)....

Any help with a potential model to help me look up parts would be appreciated..
Thanks
Dave

If you can get the part number from the gear box at the back of the spreader that drives the apron chain. Than have case/IH parts check that part number for applications. I had them track a cable pulley number for me one time. Took less than five min. Armand

Here is a pic when I brought it to the farm last spring....
Massey did build a model 135 spreader....but after some looking I dont think this is one...
I use the online IH parts catalog...it is easier if I have a model...then I scroll thru diagrams to fin the part and number...
If not I can x reference the gear box tommorrow by calling down to the dealer....
Did IH put 24" wheels on spreaders?? and what was the wheel color?? white/cream??
Thanks
Dave

(just tried the advance posting for the pic...seemed to work)

Some of the IH spreaders had half-levers with a rope attatched to them that went to the operators seat to control the apron chain and the beaters. There was a catch that fell into notches until the end of its travel than the lever went back to start position. Could you post a picture showing the front of the spreader as seen from the tractor seat? Not sure how other makes of spreaders were controled. Armand

Armand is correct. Try some of the IH casting #s. IH dealer should have "where used" part finder. The rims could have been changed at one time. I have alot of equipment with the wrong colored rim on it.

Thanks guys...Armand here is a pic from the seat....it has a lever to control both control rods going to the back..
Disregard the twine..I just tied it up to haul...usaully take em off...

Im slowly getting there..
I used the CaseIH parts diagram listing instead of entering a model number...then went to manure spreaders....I then went thru that list...

JimB seemed about right.....some of the parts match a model 150 ...
But I cant find a listing for the gear box # 617411R1 .....
An arm # 617421 was applied on the 150 along with the 155/175...
Front drive shaft sprocket # 617416R1 was used on the 150 from 1961 to 1964....

Im tring to do as much searching online before calling the dealer on that gearbox number this week......

Clefus: I never had a IH or MF spreader of that era, but did have a NH. The gear box on left and floor chain ratchet look very much like my NH. I'm not suggesting you have a NH manure spreader, as the box looks very much IH, from a buyer guide I have.

My thoughts, this spreader is 1960s technology and companies like IH, MF, NH, etc. were very likely outsourcing parts by then, maybe even buying from each other. It could be some of these parts like gear boxes, ratchets, etc. are the same on several makes of spreaders.

Except for the wheels & widespread, that is exactly like our #40. Ours came with 7.50-20 truck tires with cream colored wheels.
