throttle problem

Hey Red Men, I have a super c, it's been doing fine until the other day I started it up and when I push the throtel up the engine would rev up very slowy then when I pulled the throtel back it would idle down slowly,it ran ok and pulled good just slow pickin up and coming down.
I am new to this board and have worked some on cars and lawn mowers but not to to much on tractors ,could someone tell me where to start?I'm sure I will need more help thanks so much, I hope this goes to the right place ,I'm new to the computer also. jimmy in TN

I'll add to Gene's comment that dry stiff oil or grease in any of the pivot points in the linkage or carb throttle shaft will slow the response dramatically. JimN
