U450 IH PowerUnit (RD450)

Was wondering if anyone has put one of these engines in a 460 or 560 IH tractor before? also what is a good head #.This unit came out set up with Lp.Thanks! Keith Y.

There was one on the photo ads while back with one in it, think from KY or TN, should fit with some work

i have one in a 660 and a 560, the 660 is great, the 560 is not so good the 660 has plantery rear rearend and the 560 is not we can pull in 3rd all day with the660 and it works good the 560 we can only pull in 2nd with it. we used to pull in 4th with the 660 but it was hard on the main clutch which is a hand clutch we are know pull ing a 1066 we are not using the 560 it is a standard tread. we would sell the clutch and flywheel and engine plate , it is a foot clutch good luck, jon

Ive never put one in a '60 series, but have heard that it works waaaay better in the 660's due to the planetaries and the fact the RD engine spins faster and likes the RPM's more.

I have put an RD450LP power unit motor in my WK-40 though 8)

the lp setup running on premium gas makes for some good snort :lol:
