Did not mount the picker on the old 400 the job went to the 460 . Now i remember why i went to shelling corn rather then picking it . I hurt everywhere . Heading for a nice hot shower and then out for dinner.

Good idea, I'll join you (in different states of the union). I didn't mount a picker, But remember it accurately. I did however move 4 industrial machines onto new mounts (with student help) and feel strains I forgot. Jim

yup, when we got the 400 with the picker, it never came off. went it got sold, picker left with the tractor!!!

It is a good thing i have not got around to putting in the rad. in my S/MTA or she may have ended up under the picker . As John Boy was thinking about doing it as my S/MTA is setting in his building . So we pulled the fender off the 460 the fast hitch moved the wheels out that have not been moved in 25 years fixed up a screen for the rad on the 460 and stuffed it on there. Like i said now i remember why i went to shelling corn 30 min. on setting up the combine including swithen heads and it was off to the field .

Now I know why my dad gave me the job to put it on and take it off every year from the time I was about 14. When I left for college he got a combine.

The old 2MH pickers were advertised to be mounted in 45 minutes as I recall from when I was younger. What is everyone crabbing about? Thinking back though, I guess it did take 3 of us to get it mounted on the 450 in about half a day.---When everything went well.
I guess that the 45 minutes mounting time was with 3 factory mechanics---with the sub frame on the tractor---with all shields in place---all bolt holes drilled out to7/8 inch---on a level floor---couple of floor jacks----.
On the other hand, the 234 was able to be mounted in 45 minutes on an uneven floor---included mounting the sub frame. The cab still leaked dust [no cab].

I dont see how anyone could claim 45 minutes to mount a 2MH. It took me at least half a day and that was when I was only 20. Later on I got a 450LP with a 234. Way easier to mount and did twice as good a job in half the time.
