Super C - Castle Nut for Wheel - Supplier?

Hello,

We finally got a really nice wide front end for our 1951 Super C. We're putting the wheels back on and I need to know where I can get the castle nut that holds the wheels on. We have one, but the other one was just a regular nut, we'd like to get the right one.

Thanks!

That nut is a 5/8"-18NF thread and is a standard slotted head nut. People do call them castle nuts, but a castle nut is a little different beast, with the slots being in a narrower section above the body of the nut.

You might be able to get it from a CaseIHNHFord dealer (Part# 102 649), but it's also a common piece of hardware.

Fastenal might have them. The link is to the part at McMaster-Carr, but any good mechanical/industrial supply house should be able to come up with one for you.

Thanks so much!

McMaster Carr was half the price of Fastenal. I checked both places and ordered from McMaster Carr.

Thanks again!!!

Thanks, Pete.

I take it you found the piece on the quill-pig.

One of these days I'll get the other elements of the site fleshed out and have it back up and running the way I'd like it.
