Redoing nice 1206.Tires need replaced 18.4x38s.Would 18.4x42 with step-up be an option. Used 42 radials in good shape are easy to find 18.4 x38s seem to all used. The tractor will be used for light duty and fun stuff. Can get 42 for $600 complete.New is about 3 times more. THANKS!

Its up to you but if it were me, I would pony up the extra bucks and get new 18.4x38's. 42" rubber isn't going to look right on that tractor, plus you may have issues with clearance to mount fenders. I don't care for 20.8x38's on that tractor either. They don't look quite right and make row cropping on 30" rows a little interesting. Goodyear or Firestone, I can't remember which developed the 18.4x38 tire specifically for the 1206. In prototype testing IH found that 34" tires wouldn't hold the bead because of the power. Its your tractor, but my vote would be for 18.4x38's. Good luck.
