I purchased a F 30 awhile back that had been reversed for a hay sweep. I have never had one of those transmissions apart. What does it entail to switch it back?

simplest thing to be would just sell it to me

in all reality, im kinda curious how you would actually reverse on to begin with. they definately fir in the case only one way :?

Yep you just turn the differential around to the other side. This makes the differential turn the other way which in your case should make it go forward again.

Thanks guys, I wasn"t sure. Guess I better get a shop manual copy of the rearend and give it a try.

You will need to remove the rear wheels, brake drums and pull out the pinion shafts. Then remove the round cover on the rear and switch out the differential.

Hmm sounds familiar, I had to flip the ring gear on this Regular, just finished putting rear axle back together on Monday. The differential will go together either way. Like Cowman siad, pull the wheels, brakes, and countershafts, than pull the ring gear and put it back in the other way.

JJ, alot of the 'early' regulars DID NOT have a serial stamped on the framerail. In about late 27 or early 28 is when they put them up by the radiator.

if you dont have a toolbox tag, the only other place would be your engine serial ........assuming the block hasnt been changed out :?

The 26 that i traded to Sloroll didnt have a framerail number, nor did the 27 he sold to SproutW

"Wow early reg with a round gov. Whats the number?"

Okay I found where I wrote it down finally, assuming its original engine, which im prett certain, the serial number is QC 2546.

Well from the best I have been able to figure the gas tank was the seat. Than there was a sfat fit over the broken clutch pedal to make it longer and a piece of flat steel bent 90* to make the hand brake into a foot brake. Interesting creation. Would be fun to put a dump rake or something on. Just watch the whip around when you turn.
