I found an 1936 F12 on craigslist for $500. It is Froze up. It has the original round spoke wheels. IT has good sheet metal that has the original decals. It looks very good other than being froze up. Is it worth $500 bucks? It doesnt have tires but he does have the front wheels.

I'd say $500 is a tad high for it. I payed $300 for one that was locked up but had steel wheels and the single front. I also know of an auction that had one and it sold for $75 and it ran and drove just fine. But that auction was about 10 years ago also

i have no comment on price,or value sorry i cannot help....i just was curious as to what part of the country this tractor was in .thank you

If you plan to keep it then go for it! I love my F-12 and still use it. A few things, don't worry if you see a crack in the side of the block, most of them have it and since there is no pressure in the readiator, block sealants will work. Brake shoes are getting hard to find because everyone forces stuck ones and they break since they are cast iron shoes. The brake shoes are the same as on F-20s and possibly F-30s. If it still has the kero manifold on it be careful with it. Most of them are getting real thin by now and good kero manifolds are hard to find. You can identify them since the exhaust outlet goes straight up from the center of the manifold. Gas manifolds outlets are off set from center. Mine has the kero type and on my starting tank since I don't run kero in it, I fill the small tank full with kero because it wont deteriorate like gas and is slow to evaporate out. That keeps the tank from rusting out on the inside. Also be careful with the fuel pump, they are getting a bit hard to find, but if you break it somehow a new housing can be found from 29-mid thirtys chevy 6 cylinders, you may have to change the pump arms. New diaphrams from the old chevys are being made new and work for F-12s. If you have any more problems there are several on here who can help out! Enjoy it if you get it!

I think the bottomline is how do you feel about paying $500 for the tractor. I am currently rebuilding the same model and year tractor ( it is my grand fathers tractor). Its seized up as well, most are (they are over 70 years old). Don't let that bother you too much. You would have to replace the cylinder sleves anyway. I personally think that $500 is pretty cheap investment for the fun and challenge of rebuilding these historical beauties. Check out "fordsonhouse.com" they are really informed about this tractor. The 1936 F-12 tractor was offically to be painted Grey, however Mccormic-Deering painted some of their tractors red that year to see if it would be accepted by buyers/farmers that year (Mine is red as well). In 1937 All Mccormic-Deering tractors became the red color that we reconized today. You never know you might have until you start investigating ?

The shutters are a nice option. 36" round spokes would be prefered compared to 40" just for the cheaper tires. I'm not one to judge the price but if you get it keep us at alderson tractor in mind for the parts. We have very reasonable S&P's for F-12/14. www.aldersontractor.com

Zack Even tho F12 is a real common tractor they are hard to find with good original paint . The engine rebuild will cost some but the originality cant be duplicated.

Take a look at my comments on driving F-12s when I was younger (it's before this posting). I've just added a note about the front bolster, like the one on the tractor in this picture.

Zach, I'm a believer in fairplay so i give you fair warning. If you don't cough it up I will.....I've been drooling over it for a week+ now.
