look under the crawlers section,td6, about the guy who needs a carb for his diesel. even the mechanic didnt know the other guy was a mechanic.

Years ago I worked at a place and told the guys I had a TD-6 crawler. I told them it started on gas and switch to diesel. All of them told me I was crazy and they did not make such a thing. But one day I was taking it to do a job for some one and drive my truck and trailer to work with it on and they all had to eat there words when I went out at lunch and started it up on gas then switch it over to diesel. Same guys also told me I did not over a big rig so they ate there words twice that day because the truck I drove was my 1963 Diamond-T

Well there was Diamond-T and Reo then there was Diamond Reo But never call a Diamond-T a Diamond Reo please. That is sort of like calling a Ferguson a Massey Ferguson. At one time they made the Diamond-T and the Diamond Reo but they where in fact 2 different models of truck

What's fun is to go to the parts store and ask for spark plugs for a TD6, WD6 or any of the other gas start diesels. Then tell em it is a diesel.

Correct that to Diamond Reo then. Drove it about the same time the guy also had a massey harris.

Both where good old truck made buy the same company. Sort of like calling a Chev a Buick both made by GM but 2 different brands. At one time the Diamond-T and Diamond-Reo where the caddy's of the truck line. Petes and KWs where 2nd rate back then till a gov. contract made Diamond go out of bus.

One of our nieghbors had a new Reo Speed Wagon straight truck in late fortys and it was some sharp truck. There were a lot of great old trucks around back then thast have long since vanished.. Federal, (pre White) Auto Car, Diamond T, Brockway, Nash (very few), Studebaker, are some that come to mind great period for a truck lover like me.

First diesel I had any experience with was a Farmall 400. I was kind of amazed when I came across my first diesel that DIDN'T start on gas!
