Never heard of an AVI. There was a Super AV-1 (that's a "one" not and I) but I don't think it had the square axle tube.

Is it tall like an AV?

I guess my basic question is where are you getting the "V" from?

Doug: You haven't indicated what you believe makes this tractor an I or Industrial. Yellow paint alone does not make it an Industrial. Could it be an AV with the heavy front axle, in fact I think most if not all AV had the heavy axle.

Does it have the foot throttle? What do the model and engine serial indicate on the flat surface below number 1 spark plug? Should be stamped letters and numbers on that flat surface.

As noted it is doubtful that there was a AV industrial, the yellow paint means nothing. It could even be from a farm operation that ordered or painted their tractors yellow. You simply have an International AV.

Versions of the heavy axle were used on the AV and the International A. You have been asked most of the questions to determine which it is. Any of these answers would help:
A picture.
Engine number.
Is there are foot throttle.
The tire sizes (front and rear).

this is my Industrial A. Does yours look the same?<a href="http://s464.photobucket.com/albums/rr4/kennebunksawmill/?action=view&current=49SA001.jpg" target="_blank">

That is an International (not Farmall) SUPER A. Some people do call them industrials.

notice heavy duty front wheel not like regular av 16" by 550 front tires. heavy cast wheels 112 by 36 rear wheels. also as stated no pto. no hdy. engine code is for 1948 according to Faye"s letterbook there are no cereal numbers for 1948 models.
Thank you, doug

Looks about like any other AV. The front rims have been changed. What is the engine number? May be a Heinz 57.

mr huge i now have pics on main website i agree yellow paint dose not make it an indus but from the info i have gathered i think it is if you can find the pics look at why i and others think it is eng date code is 11-9-7 so it must be 1948 model there are no nums on the tab in front or rear in the pics i show that that it has never had vin tag in guy fayes book there are no serial nos for 1948 a-av-b bns there for no tags? it does not have a foot throttle now but could it have at one time? the eng has plugs in oil pan and a dipstick on right side of block under oil filter alos has a plate over hdy pump access in block as can be seen in pics the tractor has no hdy no pto and shows no wear on front cult mounts only on drawbar but it has the heavy front axle plus the heavy cast front hubs not the lite ones on reg av,s i dont know anything for cearten but why would a farmer buy a highcrop tractor in yellow with no extras but a dipstick? im not trying to be smart<<> im just trying to find out what (besides a tractor this thing is) some also told me that the eng with a dipstick came out of a 200 however a 200 seriers had water pumps note this eng is not mach for a pump? i need all the help i can get thanks a bunch DOUG
