super c pto generator

Anybody use a super c on a pto generator?

If so, did it work pretty well?

Never looked at the back end of one of those, do they have the smaller pto shaft, or the standard size?

I have used one on my 200 which is almost identical. It is an old one; I think it is a 20000 Watt but not sure it may be a 25. I used it for a few years whenever I welded and for 3 days a couple years back after an Ice storm. It works just fine.

I run a 25kw momentary/15kw constant alternator with an AC"C" and it works fine for just running shop/household. If you're really going to load the alt. you need more power. Super "C" would be very similar. My little Allis's are all old enough to have smaller PTO shafts adapted up to standard-no problem.

Ok, good. That's all I'm using it for is household when the ice comes. Use an M right now and boy she likes the gas, so thought maybe if I looked for a Super C it would be better on the gas consumption issue. (I gotta believe it would be better!)

Depending on the size of the generator, it may not have the oomph to run the generator at full capacity, but it should run it just fine up to a point. Northern Tool lists 14HP required for their 7200 Watt unit, and 24HP required for their 13000 Watt unit. A Super C tends to be somewhere in between those two numbers.

Indeed. A good M, Super M, 400,etc. would have all it could do with my alt. under full load. I'm sure you would appreciate the economy of the C for what your objective is. Likewise a friend irrigates his blueberry patch with a Super C very economically.
