carb overhaul

I'm trying to overhaul an H carb & the carb shaft & the throttle shaft won't turn. What is the easy way to break them loose.

if it's rusted some pb blast or you could try some oxsolic acid, you can bu it at the hardwear store in a powder form and mix it with water, it will eat rust but not harm meatl or paint. i use it all the time the stuff works great.

I've run into that before. I just took it and put it in the soup as it was and let it sit a few days and it freed up. Carb cleaner does a lot on old rusted gummy parts

I soaked it in carb cleaner overnight and it did't do the trick. Think I should try again. thanks, Terry

If you have any on hand soak it in ATF for about 24 hours and see if that helps. Then if it does blow it off and put it back in the carb cleaner. If it hasn't come free the first time in carb cleaner you need something like ATF to free it up then the carb cleaner BTDT. AFT does a good job of dissolving rust and is cheaper then the other stuff you can use
