240U loader

My 240U has a pretty heavy duty loader for the size of tractor, IH Wagner 120. Was this IHs industrial loader? I can see the loader was painted yellow in it's past life... it is now red, but it's yellow where the paint is coming off the bucket.

IHFan: Wagner was an independant company that supplied numerous tractor manufacturers with loaders as well as backhoes. Wagner loaders were brute strength all the way. Tremendously heavy loader, just about impossible to use without a counter weight on back of tractor.

Wagner probably sold most of their loaders to Cockshutt and IH. Cockshutt being the largest user. I expect it varried in different parts of North America.

Thanks Hugh.... I suspected as much. I have a fairly heavy rear blade on it and that seems to balance it just fine for the way I use it. It will probably not be loading sand or anything that heavy for me, but I can see it would need more lead in its rear if I did. Kind of wish it had wheel weights, but as I say, it works for me.
