Removing a loader from a IH 504

I would like to remove the loader from my 504 to do some work on it. It looks simple just take the 8 bolts off the axle and back the tractor up. It should slide down the metal guides. Do you need to brace the back part up at the end? Is the install as easy? Thanks Bill

You don't need to prop up the back when taking it off, but you'll probably need to put it up on blocks to get it started when you put it back on. You'll also need something to keep the loader from sliding backwards and forwards. Butt it up against a post and chain it, or just pull another tractor up to it as needed.

And don't forget to disconnect the hoses...
