magneto to coil conversion

I have a F-14 Farmall with a bad magneto. I have read several articles about this conversion but do not fully understand. Can anyone send me a diagram showing which wires to cut and where the coil wires are supposed to go. Any understandable information will be appreciated. Thanks for your help. John

Have you washed the drive end in kerosene of deisel to clean up the pawl the fires the impulse. If you cant get spark change the condenser then maybe the coil. You can add an external coil after disconnecting the mags coil then you will need 6v from someplace.

Here's a pic showing an H4 mag converted. You need to disconnect the mag's coil wire at the points. Then install an ignition switch and an auto type coil. Then run battery voltage to the ignition switch and then to the coil. If your battery is + grounded your hot wire from the switch needs to be connected to the - minus terminal on the coil. Then run another wire from
the + terminal on the coil to the points. Unhook the grounding wire on the mag. Be sure to clean those points until shiny. You will need to run a new coil wire from the new coil to the cap on the mag. It should then start. Hal
