1958 utility 350 help! desperate!

the motor died the other day twice but started back up now it runs good for 15-2o seconds and
dies as if out of fuel i took carb apart and it seemed float valve was sticking i replaced it and adjusted carb float bowl appears full fuel flows good thru fuel filter and the fuel screen is gone some frost appears on outside of carb throat i am at a dead end dont know what else to do seems like a fuel problem but could it be electrical? any help would be much appreciated

hi i have a 300U that did the same thing put on a new coil point condenser it runs like a new one jim

A condenser going bad will do that. As for a coil going bad it takes about an hour for one the heat up enough for it to be the problem. Check for spark the moment it dies. If you have good spark that is blue/white and it will jump a 1/4 inch gap spark is not the problem. You say fuel filter do you have an in line filter on it?? If you do it could well be the problem since most are not made for gravity flow fuel systems. One other way to check if it is a fuel problem is pull the drain plug out of the bottom of the carb and let it flow for at least 5 minutes. You need a good steady flow. If you don't have that you know where your problem is

Old and twinrow are probably on to it. But one of my 300U did the same thing and I tapped little on different places on the carb and it started up and has run fine for a year.
