504 Farmall Hydraulic Hose and Tube Assy Leak

I have a hyd leak in the tube portion of an assy which comes off of the pump side of the tractor. The tube has already been brazed once many years ago(probably when grandaddy was farming) any ideas on what is the best method to fix? I am not sure if a replacement part is an option unless I can find one used. Any help would be appreciated.

Highly unlikely that part is still available. I had to cut the bad part out and put a compression fitting in it's place.

I am not sure exactly which one of the two hoses you are speaking of, but I assume they are the ones from the pump. Both of mine are brazed on. One is brazed directly on (3 point) and the other has a JIC male brazed on (main pump, auxillary and power steering). Here are some pics.

I just remembered... I bought some parts from this guy Josh in Starkville, MS. I drove out there before Christmas and got some stuff off his Farmall 504 parts tractor. You can call him at (662) 549-9165. He had both lines for the hydraulic pumps. Just tell him the guy that bought the tires and wheel weights gave you the number.

Thanks Charles! It is the one on the left except on my 504 it has the 10.5 inch hose vs. the 21 inch. I found one at a salvage yard in Ohio they want $ 125.00. Case IH wants $340. What a ripoff for the new part. I live in West TN so Starkville MS is not to far, about 2.5 hours from home, where are you from? Did it still look like the assys were in good shape?

Joey K, $340 is a steap price to pay for one hose. What is your serial number and option codes? I can tell you your year and options with that. Mine is a 3712, S-X-Y. Which is a 1962. The parts tractor was a 1st year model, 1961. I know somewhere above 10,000 they changed a few things. Maybe that is when the longer 21" was used.

If you had to, you could get one made up. If you do not get the one from Josh, send me your hose and I can make a replacement using your old fittings. I would TIG weld them on. I could also do it MUCH cheaper than a OEM hose.

I can be reached my Email if you would like me to make you a new one.

The serial # is somewhere in the 9000's don't remember exactly but I am certain it is a 1964.

The numbers after the serial # are W4-FF. I know the W means forward and reverse drive and the FF means it has a 4.5 GPM hyd pump. I am not sure what the 4 means after the W. The main difference I see on the pic you posted and my tractor is the length of the hose coming off the tube assy to the lift control tube. The hose on my tractor is less than a foot and in the pic you sent me that same hose is almost 2 foot long. They must have made the lift control tube longer in later years.

If it has IPTO the "4" could be a "P". "W" is the for/rev option and I wish mind had that one!. If you have the FF pump, I think you only have one pump with rear lift, no PS and no remote valves... 1964 was numbers 7732 - 10695. If you could include a pic of your pump plate and hoses it would be nice...
