Engine hoist

Guys,
Do you think this will be suitable for removing Farmall 130 final drives?

In reply to this post and the previous one regarding the hoist. Just remember the rated capacity of the hoist is always based on the lifting arm in the shortest position. When you extend the lifting arm out it greatly reduces the lifting capacity.

Yes, but a final drive doesn't weigh anywhere near 1 ton, which is what the light-duty cherry pickers are rated for at their shortest setting. A couple of strong healthy guys can lift and place one of those final drives with absolute precision, so pretty much any old engine hoist will have more than enough capacity.

If it were me, I'd look at a 2-ton model regardless.

I purchased a 2 ton version of one of those for less than the price of the 1 ton version. (too many of the 2 ton ones came in the one shipment). Very handy taking the back end off the Super A. At short arm could pick up the whole W-4. Taking the extra legs off makes it easy to store
