Hydrolics

I have a super C. I want to pull a hay mower behind and need hydrolic to run the lift. Does anyone know what i need to do to put hoses on this? Do I need to add new conrols. It did have a belly mower on it that was run up and down by the tractor arms but i want to use it for my hay mower. Please help.

You can put a block in behind the hydrolic lines at the hydrolic box. Then you will need a new control with the remote outlets that seems to work well. You can get that at your case IH dealer i think, i know i can get it here.

There are two ways.

1. IH used to make a hydraulic remote valve for the Super A, C, Super C and their decendants that bolted to the side of the hydraulic block under the gas tank. This is the "factory correct" way, but finding one of these valves is rather difficult. I have not seen one for sale in a long long time.

2. Use a device called a "bypass block" which fits between the hydraulic manifold and the hydraulic block under the gas tank. This device re-routes the hydraulic oil into an OPEN center type hydraulic valve that you provide through hoses you provide. A machinst in Buffalo makes these and puts them up on Ebay about once a month.

For option #2, which I recommend, you need:

A. Bypass block for Super A/C/Super C/etc.
B. Two 24" 3/8" diameter hydraulic hoses with 3/8" NPT female ends.
C. Two 3/8" NPT swivels, or have the aforementioned hoses made with a swivel on one end.
D. A generic OPEN center (open is very important!!!) hydraulic valve.
E. Two 60" - 72" 1/2" diameter hydraulic hoses with 1/2" NPT female fittings on the end.
F. Two 1/2" NPT Pioneer style quick disconnects.
G. Various adapter fittings to make the final connections. You'll need to go from 3/8" female NPT to 1/4" female NPT, and do a 90 degree turn to connect the hoses to the bypass block, for sure.
