Half-a$$ed fast hitch. Why did he bother? Pics

the TA was not ofered from IH on the H's,or SH. the HTA's were "homebrew" invintions by farmers and people who knew how to do the machanics. and when it cought on manufacturs produced decals for people who wanted them (don't see them much but exsist)

Well, I always heard that "THEY" say you can't put a fast hitch on an H. Guess he showed "THEM."

'Course, unless you're either buying or using that H, whether it even has a hitch or not shouldn't get anyone's shorts in a bind...IMHO.

SMILE...this really IS as good as it gets in this life.

What he really needs is 2 to 3 point adapter added..Then the picture would look really sharp...

Randy: You are obviously new to YT, we see Super HTAs on here at least 3-4 times per month. Yes, just that often someone new chases down a SHTA, and wow what a miracle they discovered. We kind of look at it and chuckle, sort the joke of the week.

I've been around here ten years now. 10 years ago it was SHTA once per month, now it's getting close to once per week. Probably 4 times as many SHTAs around now as there was in 1999.

yes i am new to this site, and i'm probally a good bit younger than a lot of people on here. most of the stuff i know iv'e learned from what iv'e read in books and other forms of lititure, and what people have told me. so if you see something on here that i have posted and it's not 100% acurate then send me a meeage or something correcting me. the frarmall A i'm restoring now is my first project that has required this much attention. so i still have a lot to learn about them, and you'll be seeing a quite of few postings on here from me needing help. but i enjoy working on them.

Randy: I thought you were new to forum, yet not sure, so welcome aboard. It's always nice to see new blood looking after old iron. I'm 66, my dad bought the 130 new in 1958, 50 years ago last spring. We had a Cub before that, however we beat it quite bad, not heavy enough.

Since that time I've owned 3 Super A, another 130 and a 140. I still have a Super A, 130 and 140. I had larger tractors during my farming years, these are just the toys.

I know what your going through, I did my SA last winter. Mechanically it was good and I striped it down to engine, torque tube, transmission and final drives. I cleaned and painted everything piece by piece, including my Woods mower. I started before Christmas and finished just in time for the first mowing.

Randy, don't worry about it. It's just people having a little fun at your expense, being a rookie and all... Ritual hazing, kinda like the old timers at the airport sending the new kid out for a bucket of "prop wash."

It means they like you. :)

i'm 18, iv'e been on farmalls since i was born. i have 3 my self. my farmall A witch i just got for $500. i inharited my grandfathers 1944 H a few months back and it is the most reliable tractor i have starts with one crank everytime (i have to crank it because the battery is shot and i just don't feel like replacing it, plus i kind of like having to crank start it).and a few years ago i bought a complete 1936 F-12 for $200, but i'm waiting to restore it until can put the time and money into it it deserves. when i was little my grandpa took a john deere L and put a chevette engine on. i like these old tractors they run forever as long as you take care of them. sometime soon i'll post a link with pics of some of my tractors on it.

Randy, I am 28 and "restoring" a Farmall 504 diesel for my hobby farm usage (50 acres). rrodgers, check EBAY from time to time, SHTA's are quite popular, just search by price highest to lowest! We let you in on the joke, keep it going when you meet another newbie.

Charles

Dang I am glad I didn't get sucked into the SHTA. One thing we all have to remember is if we can't have fun, might as well stay home. My dad and I finished an H in the summer. We are now working on a SC.
