Hi I need your help.I need to get information on the correct location and how the original umbrella brackets are suppose to be mounted on my fathers Farmall tractors? For his Cub, A B C, H and his M. Any help would be greatly thankfull. Our local dealer only knows where aftermarket go.Even a web site showing pictures would be hugh. Thanks

I don't think there was an OEM umbrella bracket for that generation of IH tractors. The only brackets I ever saw were the kind that clamped to the steering wheel post and the umbrella pole.

Deere had them, but not sure of how else did. Since you mount just about all tractors on the left rear or side, anywhere on the right out of the way of controls would be good. My dad put one on his Farmall H, on the R/ side axle

I-H had one for the A@B they bolted to the seat supports. The H@M were aftermarket and bolted to the steering post.

On Super A's and 140's there was a bracket that attached to the left hand seat support. I saw one at a show on a SA and then found one for mine that was on a 140, the guy didnt know what it was for.

Those things are hard to find.

There were at least two types of those IH umbrellas. Some had the pipe going straight up through the middle, like a typical umbrella shape. Some supported the umbrella from the top.

The one we had on the M had a straight pipe and clamped to the steering support on the left side behind the steering wheel, and the bottom of it rested on the plaform next to the gearshift.
The one for our H had a curve in the pipe and supported the umbrella from the top. it mounted in a bracket fastened to the platform and came up directly behind the seat.

Thank you all for your help.I'm wondering if someone may know where I might get a IH Farmall, (diagram) of the exact locations where the OEM brackets go on these Farmall ABC,HM? Is there a web-site? I do have the original brackets, but I'm just still guessing on what certain locations they are to be mounted on the steering post, fender, transmissing housing? Any help would be great....
