Hey guys I have a real nice 1974 IH 766D that I bought last spring and has proven to be a very good tractor. now the question is can I SAFELY turn up the pump on this tractor, for perhaps another 10-15 horses and what direction do you turn the screw to accomplish this? Your thoughts and comments are appreciated! Thanks!

Mike

Why not have bought more horse in the first place? Yes you can for that much though you will never notice that little bit. No I don't know which way to turn the screws.

Yea ya can BUT keep in mind that for every 10% that ya tweek ya loose that much engine life . Before i would start twisten screw when ya have no idea of what your doing take it in to some one that has a dyno and knows how to use it and run it on said dyno and see where your at now . And let a pro do the twisten . Myself i do not have a problem twisten them up to 100 ponys BUT ya may want to add a pyrometer to keep track of the extra heat and never lug her dwon as SHE WILL SMOKE and smoke is unburnt fuel and unburnt fuel can and will wash the walls.
