MW hand clutch on 47 Farmall M

The M&W hand clutch on my M causes the clutch to slip on my M. I tried pullin with it and it died. When we load it on the trailer sometimes it will die from the incline of the trailer. Any ideas bout what the problem is?

Yeah, The clutch is slipping. But you knew that. right? So is it the main clutch or the hand clutch that is slipping? Hook something to the PTO and then get it to slip. If the PTO keeps turning when the tractor stops it is the hand clutch. There is an adjustment on it but if it's worn out parts are pretty much non-existant. I have the parts book scaned if you email me

There is a place in Nebraska that has newly manufactured clutch plates. Last I checked they were $70 per disc and it takes 3.

I am sure someone on here has their phone #. If not I think I can dig it up.

I just bought an M with the hand clutch. I think it is slipping also. I would like a copy of the parts book and if anyone has a op manual that would be good too. thaks [email protected]

Call Vollbracht's in Columbus, Nebraska 402-564-5993, I think Dennis is who you need to talk to. He has new fiber disc, adjustment nuts, locks for the nuts and may some other parts to. He may also be able to answer questions if you have any.
