question is ,i am changing engines out of an older m and installing 264ci out of 450 can i swap flywheels without throughing motor out of balance .the 248ci has a little diff flywheel ,heavier i think but looks like it will bolt on

Hi Danny, a 450 has the C281 engine. If you've got a C264, it may have come from a 400 or Super M.

The M's flywheel should fit just fine. Other than minor internal revisions, the C248-C281 4-cylinder engines are all the same design, use the same bolt patterns, etc.. Eli Whitney's interchangeable parts system at its finest

Yes it will work and you have to use it anyway to clear a early M belley pump if used.
