I have found a late model F-20 for sale, it has what looks like a hydralic pump on it, is this after market or factory option? This tractor also has foot brakes, serial tag is missing, motor stuck, I figure it is 38 or 39? Is it worth $250? Thanks

F-20 serial # locations, tag on tool box below fuel tank on bell housing, often missing. stamped in top of left hand frame rail. always there. also stamped on engine block, if memory is right it is on right front corner of block directly below head. as far as hyd. many were retro fitted with farmall M pumps in late 40's and 50's some with comercial adapter brackets many with blacksmith brackets of varying design and success rates

$250 sounds good. Value depends on condition, but foot brakes & hydraulics are worth that or more. Post pictures of the hydraulics. Look on the engine block, below the manifold, there is a flat smooth spot on the block with the serial number stamped into it, also the serial number is stamped on the left-side frame rail close to the transmission.

I have a 1938 F-20. Footbrakes were an aftermarket option, but very useful to have. Mine has the foot brakes, the left hand side hand break remains, and is used as a parking brake as it has the locking mechanism. I paid $150 for my F-20, which had rotted tires and a stuck engine. But then again, that was 18 years ago! Got the engine running and put new rubber on the rear and gave her a paintjob. I think it has original spark plugs still in it :)
