B4 I Break It

Trying to remove the front pulley on a 200. I built a puller - as shown on this forum - but don't see anything moving (very short handle on a 12 ton hydraulic jack). I'm jacking against a 3/4" bolt which I put thought the hole in the middle of the pulley and I assume it's pushing against the crankshaft. Looking in the center pulley hole, if it's the crankshaft I'm looking at, it has a hole in the middle of it (maybe 1/2" dia. +/-) - so much dirt I can't tell if it's threaded or not. Also the back of the pulley looks like a raised part of the casting that looks like a keyway)

Am I missing something or should I just get a longer jack handle?

Thanks in advance. I really appreciate all the good information on this forum.

Did you check for a bolt in the front of the crankshaft before you started pulling the pulley. If not then that is probably why it wont come with the puller. Squirt some oil or some kind of lubricant in there to help it move easier, also there is the key to keep it from sliping on the crankshaft.

They are serious!! I had to use almost 2500 pounds of force on a SC pulley in a press, with the crank in hand!. Warming the pulley helps! The hole is threaded, but your process seems OK. Using a socket that fits in the hole (just) and pushing on that is cool as well. JimN

Just a longer jack handle and it worked like a charm! I think it used 10 of the 12 tons though. Thanks for the advice.
