15-30 serial number

The serial number plate is missing on my Mccormick Deering 15-30. Is there a location on the engine block or frame where I might be able to find the serial number? THANKS!!!

yes, there will be a number stamped on the engine block, I forget which side. And if you crawl under the tractor and look up there is a date cast in the main frame.

I've never been able to find the serial number - only the dates, so if you guys find it or recall where, I'm curious too.

The engine date is behind the manifold [on a combination style] on your right side as you look at the block - roughly halfway up the cylinder area.

I haven't observed a [pre-29] 15-30 close enough to be positive, but think the date location was the same as a 22-36 anyway.

center of the chassis tub on the bottom will give you the date inwhich the chassis was cast, and will be the same year of the tractor.

engine serial number is on the MAGNETO side, at the front up top. right up towards the deck where the head sits. no letter prefixes, just digits on them
