706 and Schwartz loader

Most of the people on this forum have been around this type of loader longer than me (owned for about 3 days. I am going to hook up a Schwartz loader Model #1400 on our newly aquired 706 Farmall tractor. I have a few questions maybe someone can help. First off Does anyone have any literature on the 1400 loader they can email me? I need to see how to make the rear axle hold down clamp, and maybe various other parts.Second the tractor has 3 hyd prots, one left, one right, one rear. the loader has single operating cyl on the raise lower arms, but double acting on the bucket pivot, is there a way to work them off the loader without a vale? Or is it easier to use a joystick valve? Does it have to have a power past in it?

Well the two on the steering support one lever worsks the right side and the out lever works the left plus the one on the rear . So if ya want to keep the rear open for other equipment then run the one on the side up to a double valve for the loader . As to how that loader will fit up on a 706 i would have to see it then come up with a way to mount it and where . On a 2000 I H loader it fits under the rear axle and there are U clamps that flip up and over the axle.

Your tractor only has TWO hydraulic ports. One of the front ports is also connected to the rear ports, and is controlled at the same time by the same lever. If you had three ports you'd have three levers to the right of the seat.

I believe the left front ports and the rear ports are the ones connected together.

Normally, you would run the lift cylinders with the left ports (and left lever), and the bucket with the right ports (and right lever).

The problem is the single acting cylinders on the lift. Your 706's hydraulics are two-way only. If you try to use the normal up-down controls, you will stress the hydraulic pump and eventually burn it up on the down side unless you are careful to always use the float function to lower the loader.

The lift cylinders probably can't be converted to two-way, and replacement two-way cylinders will cost more than you paid for the whole loader.

Thanks guy"s and Allen, I will try your suggestions, I just wanted to be sure it was possible without hurting anything.I belive only an idiot won"t ask questions to which he doesn"t know the answers.

(quoted from post at 22:27:00 12/31/08) No a 706 will run both signal and double acting with no problems off either lever .

Really? Sure sounds like a lot of relief valve squealing when we put the dump trailer on the 856 during lowering, which has a similar, if not the same, hydraulic system. The dump trailer has two one-way 4x24 cylinders on it, by the way.

To lower it a little, we'll squeal the relief valve. For lowering it all the way, float.
