Hey Guys,

I have one simple question for you, will and 350 Diesel engine fit in a farmall H? If not, will it with some modification? And what would i have to modify?

Thanks,
Nick

I'll give your question a shot. Yes it will.
You would need a, engine plate for the rear, (donor tractor would be best) and the flywheel from the H would be needed to be adapted for the Contenental diesel. The starter is much different, so adapters and ring gear geometry are modified. The engine is in demand for 350s and is expensive to rebuild or buy. It is a difficult to start engine as it has a manifold air heater system that is pretty much worthless. Many issues have been raised on the destructive nature of starting fluid, but that was the most common method of getting them lit in 30 degree temps. They were reliable and economical engines using 30% less fuel than the stock gas engine, but I would not do it. I would choose a Perkins, or Dutz, or Kubota, engine to repower. It just is not the engine of choice. JimN
