1939 Farmall H seats

I own a 1940 Farmall H with the 39 style seat also have a 1941 Farmall H with this seat. Was this optional on the early H"s. Or did they put the seat on until they ran out of them?

Serial # 15697 in 1940 was supposed to be the last tractor with that seat. Check date code on 41 transmission, a switch could have been made sometime due to failure.

The rear frame cover and seat were changed at SN 15698. That is early 1940. Do you mean the "slot top" cover and seat? There were actually 3 seats used on the H, four if you count the Monroe.

are you talking just the pan or the whole seat assembly? The pipe style frame used the rail type seat pan just like the 39 channel style frame did.
