The casting dates on major components
Brakes are disk style not band.
Serial Number With S in it's header.

The most identifiable difference will be the disk brakes.

Band brakes are identifiable by smooth steel "pie tin" style covers over the brakes.

Disk brakes are identifiable by a heavy-looking cast cover held on by 6 bolts, with a stamped steel dust cap in the center.
 
it is quite easy to tell the diff. the 1952 model has the same cast frame. has the same 16 in. front tires with diff. hubs and mounting.little square ihc logo on rad.seal beam lights.disc brakes.also is geared faster.in 1953 and 1954 frame is channel iron, has 18 in tires on fr. has solenoid on starter activated with pull rod.after ser.# 10000 had torque amplifier and live pto. and diff. seat.i have one of each one and several standard W6s
