Is it just me or at times do any other folks need to scroll right to view all the text/photos in a post; I also think it varies from time to time as I revisit a post. Is my 12" horizontal measurement, screen antiquated? Any cure other than a wider screen? Next, this p.m. I couldn't get a photo to post on the classic view but it went around the world on the modern view. Don't think I was doing anything different but dialog box stated Mozilla Firefox couldn't find photobucket on the classic view. Here in SW Wisconsin rain that depleted a lot of snow has ended and it is slipperier than frozen snot on a brass door knob; forecast calls for 1/4" of ice then 1-3" or 3-5" (take your pick) of snow, so, no good bar burger/fries/beverages tonight.

Some system combinations do not scroll the right hand edge into a correct column of text. My computer, and others treats these like a wide single line and must be scrolled right to see it all. other times it works well. I further believe photos that have not been set to about 700K also allow wide reality to happen. We had the 36 37 degrees yesterday, and 20 degrees today. Most roads have 1/4" of ice. Unless they were driven dry in the salt slush yesterday. Jimn St. Cloud, MN

I believe the image scroll problem has more to do with the way the person doing the posting is linking to the image than anything. It may also have to do with the settings on your pc.

You can post an image with the built in codes that YT has set up or you can use html codes to link to a file where the image is stored. If someone doesnt use the proper (br) or (p) to break the text and image then the code will all flow together.

Sometimes an image is just to large for the setting on your pc and then the scroll problem occurs. I try to keep my images to under 600 pxls width. Doing it that size you still get good quality without makeing it to large for most people to view without scrolling.

Al, it's not you nor your computer.

It's the guy uploading the picture. If the photo isn't sized right, it messes up the whole thread.

Yup, the image posted in the thread is wider than your screen. There isn't anything you can do about it unfortunately.

I have this occasionally happen on posts that are text only without a picture involved. There is a topic in the discussion forums to the left that you can ask Chris or Kim about this.

All is well with your computer. The resolution that you set your screen to in Windows affects your view some. I am using 1280 x 800 on my laptop with a 15.4" widescreen. The higher your computer resolution, the smaller the text, but the more you can see at one time. Hence larger monitors and dual monitors allow more viewing area.

Now as for posting, that is determined by the poster. If I post a picture like this, it should fall in line vertically.

Blah, Blah, Blah,...

(picture address)

Blah, Blah, Blah,...

Now if someone post a pic like this, it will be outside of the screen's resolution and force you to scroll.

Blah, Blah, Blah,... Blah, Blah, Blah,... (picture address)

Also I have noticed if you are using (Photobucket) you have 4 choices for how to address the link depending on what you are using it for. Classic and Modern Views use a different link address to work. I forget which to use so I always preview first. If it doesn't pop up i paste a different link.

Finally, I like to take pictures for internet useage at VGA quality (low resolution). They are smaller in file size so they load faster and are easier to upload (less time on slower connections). If you post a 10 MP picture, it will take up 4 screens in uncompressed view. Hence scroll up/down and side to side.
