230 Utility???

In the tractor ads, there's a 230 "Utility". I didn't realize that IH made "utilities" until the 300, and of course the 240 and 340 utilities...can this really be a 230 utility? Wasn't ever a 200 utility, was there?? thanks, Cmore
 
The utilities in that series began with the 240U, there was no 230U. There is also a 330 utility, which in simplified terms is a 350U with a smaller engine.
 
cmore: I saw that as well, I knew it was being built. I didn't know it would be for sale. It's obvious Stan built this using a Farmall 230 and a Interntional 240 Utility. I guess he thought trying to fabricate a dash and lower the platform was a bit too difficult to be worth while.

300 was the first Utility, 230 was built two years after that and not as a Utility. 230 Utility is Stan's creation.
 
Hugh, I saw Stan's "U230" at an antique tractor pull a couple of years ago...it really is a nice unit...Stan is one of the best mechanics I've been around in a goodly number of years...who ever ends up with it will have a nice "discussion piece"....BobG in VA
 
Bob: I didn't intend to be questioning Stan's ability. I never met him, however shared a few personal e mails with him way back when, forget the exact date. I soon learned he was quite a creative man. He discussed with me the possible 230U.
