WF Hebard Shop Mule.

Hello, I was told over at RedPower that a fella named Haas knows alot about shop mules. I'm looking for whatever info I can get on it, including original color, or if they were painted what ever the customer wanted. Here's a link to RedPower with a picture, and a link to a video. Thanks!

All Hebard Shop Mules I have seen are either red or equipment yellow. The US navy used a lot of them, but not too many of those left. The military ones had spark arrestor exhausts and special safety caps on the gas tank. Since these were built by Hebard Company using IH parts, many of them were custom made to whatever the customer wanted. Attachments were available for them, including snow plows, mowers and rotary brushes for sweeping. Some were also built with enclosed cabs. If you have some specific questions, send me an E mail. Here's a photo of my Shop Mule. Used to have two of them, but sold one a few years back. The one I sold had a snow plow.

I went over to the Red Power Forum and looked at your photo. (I rarely visit the Red Power Forum). Your Shop Mule looks to be a model A-14V. It has a U-4 (Farmall H) engine, truck rear end and 3 speed truck transmission. I'm not very farmiliar with the A-14V Mules. I've seen one or two of them. I think they were mostly used for airport mules. The one I have is a model A-21 and is based on the U-2 (Farmall A) power unit. The drive train on the A-21 is Farmall A as well. As you can see in the photo, it looks like a "Standard" IH tractor and some say that if IH had made a W-2, that would have been it. My previous post comments refer to the A-21
