Farmall regular steering wheel ..

Hello, Went to the salvage yard Saturday and got all the parts I need to get my regular back up to par. One of the parts I wanted to replace was the steering shaft. The guy had one off a regular donor tractor about a 1925 model. My tractor is a 26. Anyway, the steering shaft had one of the fat cast-iron steering wheels on it casting number 1526-D with all the small casting holes around it. The one I had was the skinnier one without holes, casting number 1526-DA. Both wheels are in excellent condition and I have been looking in the books and found similiar era tractors with either wheel. So I guess its a matter of personal choice. Which one would you use and why. Should I go back with the fatter one or use the one that I got the tractor with? Which one would be correct for a 26 model?

Not sure about the steering wheel but I would be saving that 1925 model Regular from the salvage yard. Now that"s a tough tractor to come by. I"d be using that 26 of yours to complete that 25.

The DA would be a later revision of the D. But that being said I do not know when that might be dated and either could of been used. Who knows? I"ve torn up a lot of tractors and see a lot of inconsistency.
