My hyd quit working all at once. I pulled the tractor in the shed, loader was working fine. It sat two weeks till I needed it to plow snow. it did have a whine in it but it worked fine. I started it up and no hyd. no sound or any thing. I checked the oil level and it is up to the plug hole but it looks foamy. Any ideas? thanks

We had one that would do that and it was because of mosture in the Hyd system. I remember there were times we had to drain and change oil and filter. Once when it was well below zero the only way it would work was to run it without a filter. Might not be the best but it was the only way it would work.

Thanks for your help, looks like I have to get 10 gal. of oil, sure hate to through out all this hyd. oil. Is there any thing I can do to stop this from happening again? And what kind of oil should I use? thanks again.

Had this happen to my 460. I was at an auction a few years back, in the middle of winter,it was well below zero. They had a460 with aloader on it, and it would not lift. A guy standing next to me said put 4 cans of Heat in the HYD. and run it,it will thaw it out. Idid it to mine, and it worked. IN the spring i changed the fluid and filter.

I've done the "heat" in the hyd. system with success as well.
I just can't recommend it or condone it. 4 bottles of heat or 48oz. would be about max from an un-scientific standpoint. Anything more, and I'd opt to drain & refill.
