Thanks to everyone who made a reply to my message,706 repower with a cummins 4bt. I have another question about how govenor in the injection pump will react at part trottle when adding or removing a load. Will the rpm climb when the load on the pto goes down? Being this engine was built for an automotive application I would think it would only limit high rpm like a (limiting speed governor) thanks again. PS Iam from the St Paul Mn. area when this project takes of I will keep posting for those who are interested in the 263 gas

Well that is still and issue on the 1855 with the 4BT and i knew that it would be . nothing that a trip to Cummins will not cure.

There is no govenor in a truck engines pump so you will have to be the govenor. If you want a govenor "you will" you will have to get a pump off a Maxxum or other stationary engine with the govenor type pump. Talk to a pump shop it might be possiable to install the govenor parts in your current pump.

Have you had a chance to run the 1855 PTO on something that the power requirement would keep changing? Does the RPM flucuate alot? We would be using our 706 on a 10in. x 70ft. auger. I would like the RPM to stay fairly steady. Thank you.
