I bought a early 53 SMD with a loader on it. I took off the loader, the loader arms also doubled as oil resevoir. Would like to leave the live pump on but no I have no oil resevoir. Did IH make a belly resevoir or do I have to change it over to a liftall system to keep my live pump? Thanks for any suggestions!!!

You can mount a aftermarket or homemade reservoir somewhere on tractor. Also convert a belley pump to use as reservoir. If you don"t have one it takes one from a real late M or a SM tractor to clear the 12 inch clutch. Also a reservoir from a factory equiped live hydraulic system that goes under fuel tank could be used. If your tractor is below serial # 28181 the battery would need moved from under tank and control mounting for choke, pulley, switchover lever and starter switch would need modification to mount reservoir. If tractor is serial 28181 or higher you just need the late reservoir and all brackets, switchover and starter engaging lever pivot stud to mount.

Where are you located? Close to NC? I have a complete under tank reservoir, hoses and Christmas tree valve for a SMD that I would let go.

I live in MN, would be interested if we could work something out. Also could you possibly post a picture. Thank You!
