Which side does the battery sit on. Seems to me on the left side, under the gas tank, but where precisly? Also, does anyone have the specs for the battery box??

The box mounts on the right-side (carb side of tractor).

Andy is correct IF you are standing in front of the tractor--then its on the right side. I think most people think of left and right from the driver's seat, and then the battery is on the left side.

The carb side is the left side. There should be 4 holes there just behind the air cleaner. Battery box sits on an L shaped bracket which bolts to the clutch housing.

On any car, truck, or tractor, the left side, and the right side, are determined by the operator sitting in the operators seat.

AND I also said the battery might be on the left side assumeing I was setting on or in the back of the tractor
