Chipped gear tooth

I have a chipped tooth on the hydraulic pump on my 340. I can't find a replacement tooth and less than half the tooth is missing. Should I just run it as is? should I try to have it welded and re-machined. What are the implications of each option. I can't imagine it is under that heavy of a load.

Thanks,
Chuck

i would have a machine shop take a look at the gear and see if they can save it. they may be able to build it back up and machine it for you. i wouldnt run it the way it is. prolly has come hair line cracks in there and the gear may let go all together, then wipe out the pump or something worse. maybe give nebraska cowman or rustyfarmall a shout. they may have an old pump laying around.
