So everyone was right,my C is too lean.I feel like a dumb a!$.So I turned the mix screw as I did before but no luck,I ran it a half choke and it pulls hard and ran real good with no cough,So what is it,the jet??

Carburetor overhaul is probably needed; be sure to check for air leaks around the manifold & carb mounting gasket.

If there is a good clean flow of fuel to the carb and there are no air leaks around the carb/manifold, it most likely needs the carburetor rebuilt. YT sells new carb kits, or I'm sure RustyFarmall could sell you a rebuilt carb.

A bit more than a year ago there were about 10 posts about Dennies Carb shop. None were good. I have had no experience there at all, but the main jet, and passages to it are easy to get to, and are probably the issue. Do not use a torch reamer on the jet, they will radically change the flow. Do remove it, and clean it and the passages to the nozzle in the venturi. Plain wire is OK, just do not auger the jet bigger. Also make sure the correct jet is in the carb. THe float level needs to be correct to allow the jet to draw from a spcecific fuel level. if too low, it acts like a small jet. Good luck, JimN

You did mention that this is a rebuilt from Denny's Carb Shop, right? I can't speak from personal experience but I haven't heard anything encouraging about their products or services...

Carburetors are nothing to fear. Other than getting the float level CLOSE, there's nothing mysterious, fidgety, fragile, or difficult about working on one. The only reasons to pay way too much for a rebuilt is if the carburetor is smashed or missing.

Basically, if you can successfully remove and reinstall the carburetor, you have the mechanical aptitude and know-how tear it down and put a kit in it.
