Chipped gear IH 340 hydraulic pump

I have a 340 with a Thompson 12 gpm transmission driven hydraulic pump. It had a leak around the mounting plate that I decided to fix. When I pulled the plate and the pump, I noticed that on of the teeth on the pump gear was chipped. I'm not sure whether I did it when I pulled the pump or it was that way. Regardless the 16 tooth gear part number 370949R1 is no longer available. They do still have a 15 tooth gear part number 373711R1, but I am not sure if that will work. Does anyone know? If not does anyone know where I can find a used one? or is it possible to have the tooth welded and re machined (about 1/2 of the tooth is missing)?

Thanks for the help

In general principles, a gear with the same pitch will work despite a different number of teeth...however the centerline distance will have to be modified so they will mesh again.

Next, gear teeth have been welded up and brazed up and then filed back to profile many times in desperation. This may work for some time or may result in a catastrophic failure...depends on the duty cycle, loading, and quality of the repair.
