plows wont stay in ground

My Super A rear plows want to "float" when I am running out row middles. I have adjusted the plow point angles and the dirt is soft but they still do not want to stay in the ground. Whats next to try --Thanks

Remember that the tool bar does not drop straight down but rotates on the mounting flange. You may not have as much angle pointed into the ground as you think. Try more adjustment of the point into the ground. That angle can be set rather sharp. If you have good sweeps and the ground is soft it will go into the ground. LMack

Many people mistakenly call cultivators, "plows."

What are you doing when you are "running out row middles?" I've never heard of that before.

By saying "running out row middles", I'm sure he is refering to cultivating out where the wheels run in a row crop. LMack's comments may be on mark. Without knowing a little more, most comments we could make are little better than guesses. What type tools are being used? shovels? sweeps? Are they on spring or friction standards? spring teeth?

Keep adjusting the sweeps or whatever you have. If the cultivator is the type that has vertical rods with springs, adjust the spring tight so that the bar that the feet/sweeps are attached to does not easily move up and down. Exactly what are you doing, and what kind of "sweeps" do you have? There are chisel points, winged sweeps, shovels, etc.

yes I was talking about the plow sweeps or sharesI guess, not a moldboard (we call em breaking plows),by running out the middles I meant the rear cultivator sweeps open up the area where the rear wheels run in row crops.I was raised on a small farm in eastern NC and you have to keep things simple for us Thanks
